Looking across Bailey Lake from North Fork Highway. Our place is at the center bottom of this picture.

Sky Crane loading from Spoon Lake

Around the corner from the Lake headed for Blankenship Road.

Blankenship turn off is down where those cars are.

The next day it just looked worse.

From the train over pass in Columbia Falls, looks like our place is burning.

From the Columbia Falls Jr. High

Looking to Apgar mountain from Bailey drive.

Next 3 shots from the Blankenship bridge.

Apgar Mountain, from highway 2 just above the golf course in West Glacier totally burnt.

Looking from West Glacier to Blankenship area, Apgar Mountain again.

On Blankenship Bridge

It got thick at times at the lake.

This is old highway 2 headed to the Canyon

We are at the road into Glacier Rim access on the north fork of the Flathead
river.
Where the trucks are is where the fire came through. See the next picture.

End of the pavement on the Northfork highway.

It really got hot, this is along the highway just up from the Glacier Rim access.

Went to Glacier and took pictures of the Trapper Creek Fire. If you want to
see thermal images of these fires go to:
www.geomac.gov, click on the center of
the page, wildfire mapping, when the new window pops up,
upper right, jump to fire, Trapper or Robert. Click the 2 Thermal boxes, and refresh from the bottom of the screen.
As you click on the map it will zoom in.
3 miles above the Switch Back on the Sun Highway we were able to stop. There was no stopping 3 miles before or after the burn.

You can see the lower part and upper part of the Sun Highway. The fire came right through the switch back.

Imagine that, we actually took pictures of each other. Steph has a thing about turning the camera sideways.

Looking across Lake McDonald, the winds had picked up and we saw trees torch.
